Demand Public Hearings on Mountain Valley & Atlantic Coast Pipelines
Virginians deserve an opportunity to speak and share publicly with the Virginia Marine Resources Commission their concerns about the proposed Mountain Valley (MVP) and Atlantic Coast (ACP) fracked gas pipeline projects — which pose catastrophic threats to our water security.
There is no evidence that these pipelines can be built without causing permanent, irreparable harm. In fact, the backers of the Mountain Valley Pipeline have already stated that their project would permanently degrade water resources that support threatened and endangered species.
The VMRC "serves as stewards of the Commonwealth’s marine and aquatic resources, and protectors of its tidal waters and homelands, for present and future generations," and Commissioner Bull urges citizens to join the commission "as protectors of our critical natural resources so that they remain for our children and grandchildren…"
Virginians should be proud that our mountain streams and rivers are clean enough to restore endangered species, and provide fishable trout waters, and we deserve an opportunity to speak and share publicly to the VMRC their concerns about these projects.
Sign the petition to demand the Virginia Marine Resources Commission hold Public Hearings convenient to landowners on the proposed Mountain Valley and Atlantic Coast pipeline routes.
